In A Slice of England, India Hicks explores her British heritage and how it is expressed in her newly finished English country house. The author talks about her family's homes including Broadlands estate and her parents' houses, Britwell and the Grove as well as her father's famous garden. The second half of her book is the story of her new home, America Farm and how she reinterpreted English tradition and made it her own.
