Just as we are having to deal with a little more snow, I thought of our summer in Europe and the UK. We spent a little over a month traveling throughout six countries and enjoyed so many different foods. Some of our favorites were the breads and pâtisseries in France, German frappes, Belgian beer, and a simple but lovely charcuterie board. Cousin Tim made a beautiful paella and we found our way to farmers markets in Northern Germany where we watched asparagus being stripped by an innovative machine. Some of our best finds were quite by accident and included a wonderful French restaurant in the back streets of London as well as an exquisite B & B called the Barnsdale Lodge near Rutland Water in England. While our entire trip was memorable, we will keep close to our heart the foods we tasted and the company we shared along the way.
