Don’t let the unassuming store front fool you…we have found our favorite stop in downtown Lenox, Massachusetts, and have already been back for a second visit. Brava wine and tapas bar is located at 27 Housatonic Street and is a true find.
We like sitting at the bar and trying out different wines and munching on the charcuterie plates filled with meats and cheeses.
The atmosphere is laid back and Mediterranean in feeling. We loved the chalkboard and the clip board menus. We thought the friendly, helpful staff (whose long aprons give them a real European sensibility) were more than willing to answer any questions and make suggestions on each of our visits.
The wine menu has a good selection of affordable and drinkable bottles. We found it to be a fairly extensive list for such a small restaurant. On our second visit we enjoyed a bottle of Sharecropper’s Cabernet Sauvignon which was great.
While the menu offers pizzas, salads and larger “meal” like dinners, we opted for small plates to share including anchovies which were (perhaps) pickled in flavor. They were also quite beautiful to look at. We also loved the almonds! Wow were they fabulous.
The charcuterie plates are made to order based on your personal selections. We loved the chorizo and the Iberico ham…and if you know us you know any type of cheese is just fine.
Did we say we LOVED the cheese? Well, we did. So far we’ve tried five. We can’t wait to go back and try the rest.
Located in the heart of downtown Lenox, Brava should be the last stop on your list after a fun evening of hitting the shops or strolling along the picturesque streets. You will find you may spend a few hours sitting at the bar enjoying the wine and sampling lots of little tapas.
Brava fills up quickly and they don’t take reservations…but trust us…it is worth the wait if you can’t get a seat right away.
