Chateau Lagrave-Martillac (Pessac-Léognan) 2005

April 17, 2011 Leave a Comment

We picked up this bottle for just $20. The wine takes its name from a tower dating from the twelfth century, which adorns the courtyard of a castle.  The wines, white and red, of the château Latour-Martillac were recognized in 1953 and 1959 as “grand cru classé” of Graves.

The wine has a spicy taste with a note of roasted herbs. We liked the is a purity of the palate and the strong tannins which give it a full flavour. Overall a good wine to serve with beef.
