Folk Magazine ~ Live Authentically

If you know me you know I am a little (ok, a lot) obsessed with magazines. In the early part of 2000 I’d spend countless hours at bookshops looking at special copies. My favorites were the British ones which were extra small but perfect for taking with you on trips. I’ve been patiently waiting for our shipment of Folk Magazine to arrive and today, when it did, I could not believe how perfectly meant to be this magazine was for our little shop. The cover is by my latest YouTube obsession, Trout & Coffee’s Kyle Finn Dempsey.  His storytelling capabilities are incredible. He captures Western New England and the Berkshires in the most gorgeous way. It makes me long for home every single time. And the magazine? It is tiny just like my former British favorites.

I’m late to the party with Folk Magazine.  They’ve been a thing for ten years. When we discovered them it was for the jam. The magazines were just an intriguing addition. I’ve since ordered them all so we can share them with all of you here in the Finger Lakes. You can read each copy for hours. The photographs evoke a feeling of comfort and hominess. There are essays and recipes. Field trips and conversations. This is a keeper. Stop in soon, we only have six of each copy.
