Although apples are a fall fruit, the Granny Smith Apple is good throughout the year. This is a really refreshing and light sorbet that our entire family just loved.
Ingredients:
500 ml of freshly pressed apple juice
100 grams of sugar
1 Tablespoon of corn syrup
1 teaspoon of sorbet stabilizer (don’t worry if you don’t have this…it just stops it from becoming too hard in the freezer)
a few spinach leaves (for color)
1 Vitamin C Tablet (crushed)
First cut up your apples and then either press or pass through a juicer…throwing in a few spinach leaves for their wonderful color.
Let the juice settle for ten minutes and then remove any forth with a spoon and strain.
Blend all the ingredients together and place in fridge for one hour to chill.
Then churn in your ice-cream maker.
Pour into a suitable container and leave to firm up in your freezer.

This was so refreshing. We have had so much heat here in New England lately so we were desperately in need of a summer dessert that would be light and satisfying. We could have eaten this all night!

Bonus tip…this makes a delicious and healthy slushy. Just take some of the sorbet in a glass and pour over either iced water or some additional freshly pressed apple juice. Yum!
