I first met Liz Barrett early in 2018 when I had just been diagnosed with a condition that led me to stop eating gluten, sugar, dairy, and inflammatory foods. Ironically, I was on a food tour of Providence, Rhode Island with my nine-year-old son…mostly for him. We were stopping in great little shops and restaurants looking for culinary treasure. Liz was set up with samples at Stock Culinary Goods. She offered us a sample and I remember telling my son he could try it but that I would have to pass because it had dairy in it- I was happily surprised to speak with Liz and learn that all of her products are dairy-free.
The sample had us both sold. I had just signed the lease for Charlotte Julienne Watch Hill and contacted her when I got home. Barrett’s Garden Farmesan has been a staple for us from the beginning.
