It is mid-March and, having been here a full year now, I can say that the season of spring that we are heading into is my favorite. Spring has never been my favorite. I’m a fall girl all the way. But here on the farm spring is by far the most beautiful.
This past week has been tough. With all the sorrow in the Ukraine it is a bit difficult to continue posting what seem to be meaningless photos of products or images of our farm that before this held so much meaning to us. To see the beauty of the snow geese landing in the field by the hundreds, and spring bulbs beginning to show their greens- I feel guilty enjoying any of it. It seems unfair that life keeps going when there is so much tragedy. Yet it does.
Today the snow drops began to bloom. Snow drops symbolize sympathy. Because it is the first flower to bloom at the end of winter it also symbolizes hope. I thought that was pretty perfect for right now. Sympathy & Hope. I have so much hope for the people of Ukraine. For all of us.
Charlotte Julienne will be donating 100% of the sales of our Ukrainian pottery to Together Rising. Find pieces in the shop and online.
